The full form of CISF is Central Industrial Security Force. It is the largest industrial security force in the world. Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is a Central Armed Police Force which functions under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. Its headquarter is in New Delhi, India. As of July 2021 Mr. Sudhir Kumar Saxena, IPS is the Director General of CISF.

The CISF came into existence in 1969 with a modest beginning, having three battalions, to provide integrated security cover to the Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) which, in those years, occupied the commanding heights of the economy. CISF is currently providing security cover to nuclear installations, space establishments, airports, seaports, power plants, sensitive Government buildings and ever heritage monuments.

Eligibility Criteria

There are different criteria for the eligibility of CISF examination such as education qualification, age limit, age relaxation, physical standard, Below you will find all the eligibility criteria for CISF constable job in detail.

1. Educational qualification:-

  • The candidate must be intermediate passed or,
  • The candidate must possess a senior secondary certificate (10+2).
  • the candidate must possess the required qualification by the government recognised university.
  • English typing with a minimum speed of 35 words per minute (wpm). 
  • Hindi typing with a minimum speed of 30 words per minute (wpm).

2. Age limit:-

  • Maximum age limit – 23
  • Minimum age limit – 18.
  • The age limit is also applicable for the North Indian Region.

5. Medical standard:-

6. Nationality- 

Candidates who are applying for the CISF recruitment 2020 should of Indian citizens. 

7. Number of attempts:-

Every candidate appearing at the examination who is otherwise eligible shall be permitted 3 attempts at the examination for all the different posts under CISF recruitment 2020.

Main branches and sectors of CISF

CISF mainly has three branches: Executive branch, Fire Service branch and Ministerial branch. It is further organized into six sectors. Each sector is headed by Sector Inspector General. These sectors are as follows:

  • Eastern Sector with headquarters at Patna
  • Northern Sector with headquarters at New Delhi
  • Western Sector with headquarters at Mumbai
  • Southern Sector with headquarters at Chennai
  • North Eastern Sector with headquarters at Kolkata
  • Airport Sector with headquarters at New Delhi
