The full form of SEBI is “Securities and Exchange Board of India“. It monitors and regulates the Indian capital and securities market while ensuring to protect the interests of the investors, formulating regulations and guidelines. SEBI is established on 12 April 1988 and received statutory recognition under the SEBI Act 1992 on 30 January 1992. It is headquartered in the business district of Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai and in New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Ahmedabad respectively. There are Northern, Eastern, Southern and Western Regional Offices. As of Feb 2022 Mr. Ajay Tyagi is the Chairman of SEBI.
