SKM: Samyukta Kisan Morcha
The full form of SKM is Samyukta Kisan Morcha or Samyukt Kisan Morcha. In English, it means United Farmers Front. Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) is a coalition of over forty Indian farmers’ unions formed in November 2020 to coordinate peaceful protest against the three farm laws calling those laws are anti-farmer and pro-big business. One of the demands of SKM is to guarantee MSP (minimum support price) for 23 crops. On 29 November 2021, the Indian parliament passed the bill to repeal farm laws in the country. This led to the end of the protest.
