BSNL: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited
The full form of BSNL is Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited. It is a state-owned telecommunications company based in New Delhi, India. It was incorporated by the Government of India on October 1, 2000. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is one of the largest cellular service providers in India and the largest fixed-line operator in India. It is the oldest communication company in India and its history goes back to British India. BSNL provides landline phones and mobile services on the GSM and CDMA platforms. Its services include landline phone, cell phone, broadband, Internet television, IPTV.
BSNL provides mobile voice and internet services through its national telecommunications network throughout India. It is the largest wireline telecommunications network company in India, with over 60% market share. As on March 2020, Pravin Kumar Purwar is the Interim President and MD of BSNL. Its subsidiaries are BSNL Towers Limited and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL). In February 2019, it launched Bharat Fiber (FTTH), which offers TV over IP (IPTV), video on demand (VoD), audio on demand (AoD), bandwidth on demand (BoD), Remote Education, Video Conferencing Services, Interactive Gaming, Virtual Private LAN services.
