1) LG: Lucky Goldstar
The full form of LG is Lucky Goldstar. It is a multinational conglomerate company headquartered in Yeouido-dong, Seoul, South Korea. The companies Lucky and Goldstar merged to form Lucky-Goldstar (LG) in 1983. The company associates the letters LG as a backronym for the company’s slogan “Life’s Good”. LG makes electronics, chemicals, and telecom products and operates subsidiaries such as LG Electronics, Zenith, LG Display, LG Uplus, LG Innotek and LG Chem in over 80 countries.
LG has an innovative logo to represent its corporate brand. Its logo features a circle containing the letters “L” and “G” in the form of a human face. The circle in the logo represents the globe, the smiling face conveys friendliness and the one eye in the logo shows the company is focused and goal-oriented. As of April 2020, Koo Kwang-mo is the Chairman and CEO of LG. The company has divided its business into five divisions; Home Entertainment, Mobile Communications, Home Appliance, Air Conditioning and Energy Solution and Vehicle Components.
2) LG: Lieutenant Governor
In India, LG stands for Lieutenant Governor. He is in charge of a union territory in India. However, this rank is available only in the five union territories of India; Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi and Puducherry. The Lieutenant Governor (LG) is also appointed by the president of India for a term of five years. He could be terminated by the president of India or can resign from the position.
