HTC: High Tech Computer
The full form of HTC is High Tech Computer. It is a consumer electronics company headquartered in Xindian District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. High Tech Computer (HTC) company is best known for manufacturing smartphones and tablets. It was founded in 1997 by “Cher Wang”, Initially a manufacturer of notebook computers. HTC’s smartphones are based on the android and windows operating system. It also makes PDA’s. HTC had produced the first-ever Android smartphone in the market named HTC dream. Initially, HTC was successful as a smartphone vendor but competition from Apple Inc., Samsung Electronics and other smartphone manufacturers, diluted its market share and the company has experienced consecutive net losses. As of April 2020, Cher Wang is the Chairperson, Yves Maitre is the CEO and Peter Chou is the Vice Chairman of HTC.
