The full form of LED is Light Emitting Diode. LED is a semiconductor light source. Light Emitting Diode (LED) emits light when current flows through it. LED is a two-lead semiconductor light source. It is a very important electronic device as it is used in a lot of electrical and electronic devices nowadays. It is mostly used in electronic test instruments, televisions, calculators, clocks, radios etc. LED has proved to be a revolutionary product in the field of light source. It is about 80% energy efficient compared to traditional light bulbs and fluorescent light sources.
LCD: Liquid Crystal Display
The full form of LCD is Liquid Crystal Display. LCD is a flat-panel display and uses the light-modulating properties of liquid crystals. Liquid crystals do not emit light directly, instead of using a backlight or reflector to produce images in color or monochrome. Liquid crystals were discovered in 1888. LCD is an electronically modified optical device made up of sections filled with liquid crystals. The Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) uses liquid crystals and polarized light to display images. When the electric current is applied to the LCD TV, there is a large bright light that shines towards the viewer. This creates millions of pixels that produce images.
