AIIMS: All India Institute of Medical Sciences
The full form of AIIMS is All India Institute of Medical Sciences. It is a medical school and teaching hospital, operates autonomously under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. AIIMS (New Delhi) was created in 1956 through an Act of Parliament and is governed by the Indian Institute of Medical Sciences Act of 1956. AIIMS New Delhi is ranked 1st in India by the National Institutional Classification Framework and 1st in South Asia in the Life Sciences and Medicine category by QS WUR.
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) provides a number of medical courses; MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) is one of them. It is a leader in the field of medical research. It also runs a Nursing College to provide B.Sc Hons. Nursing degree and manages a 60-bedded hospital at Ballabgarh in Haryana. AIIMS also offers M.Sc. and Ph.D. level research courses. It is one of the top and dream colleges of all NEET aspirants. At present, there are a total of nine AIIMS in India.
