DL: Driving License
The full form of DL is Driving License. It is a mandatory document needed to drive vehicles on a public road. Person holding Driving License (DL) can drives vehicles such as a car, motorbike, truck, bus, etc., on a public road, without any supervision.
The applicant should be minimum 18 years old and should have the consent of his guardian or parents. He must be aware of traffic rules and regulations, and should possess a valid age proof and address document.
If a person meets above criteria then he/she can appear for an online test to get a LLR, which is valid for 6 months. After 6 months LLR holder have to visit the RTO in order to give a driving exam, Passing this exam will get a permanent licence.
Document Required for Driving Licence in India
Following are the documents required to obtain a driving licence in India:
Age Proof (any one of the below given documents)
- Birth Certificate
- PAN Card
- Class 10 mark sheet
- Transfer certificate (TC) from any school for any class with date of birth printed on it.
Permanent Proof of address (any one of the following)
- Aadhaar Card
- Self-owned house agreement
- Electricity bill (issued in applicants name)
- LIC bond
- Voters ID Card
- Ration card
Current Proof of address (any one from the following)
- Rental agreement and electricity bill
- Rental agreement and LPG bill
