RI: Reserve Inspector
In the police department, RI stands for “Reserve Inspector”. The duty of the Reserve Inspector (RI) is to assist a Sub-Inspector (SI) for maintaining his day-to-day duty as allotted by the Superintendent of Police (SP).
RI: Revenue Inspector
In the revenue department, RI stands for “Revenue Inspector”. The Revenue Inspector is appointed for a circle. Circles are called Mandal in Hindi. The main function of a Revenue Inspector (RI) is to supervise the work of Village Accountants working under him, and furnish information, reports etc., to the Tahsildar as and when called for. RI is a vital link between the Village Accountant and the Tahsildar. He/She is required to be in constant touch with the Village Accountants and the Tahsildar.
